Founded by Dr. Mohammad Harris, a PhD engineer specialising in sustainable manufacturing, Inshira Technologies has joined IDAIC with a platform designed to make industrial decarbonisation commercially viable for small and medium-sized manufacturers.
The company’s integrated AI platform combines three tools: SmartFactory AI, which identifies production delays, waste and cost overruns at the process stage level; CycleProfit AI, which tracks material loss, recovery value and carbon impact to turn by-products into verified value streams; and HalalGuard, a traceability and compliance module built for regulated markets. All three tools work from data manufacturers already collect, requiring no new sensors or lengthy IT projects.
We joined IDAIC to connect with others working towards AI-led industrial decarbonisation and to contribute to solving the real challenges being seen across industry. Through the coalition, we hope to turn those insights into practical action for SME and bespoke manufacturers under cost pressure, helping them cut waste, boost profits, and support continuous improvement towards a more sustainable UK manufacturing landscape.
Inshira’s research foundation includes peer-reviewed work in the Journal of Cleaner Production and the International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer. The company has been supported by the NatWest Accelerator, Barclays Eagle Labs, MSDUK and Sustainable Ventures, and holds an academic partnership with the University of Hertfordshire. Its advisory board includes Professor Hongwei Wu, a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, and Puja Hazlehurst, a Women’s Engineering Society Top 50 award-winning engineer with experience at Rolls-Royce.
